You Have The Power

Published: April 10, 2008

There are times in our lives when we feel absolutely powerless due to certain circumstances and situations that arise within our lives. Consequently, in spite of all we do in our humanity to bring resolve, at the end of the day we need a divine solution.

The theme of the book of Acts stresses that the Holy Spirit provides a solution to the dilemma of humanity trying to solve the issues of life by ourselves. Acts introduces the Holy Spirit that indwells humanity to provide us the power to overcome in the times that we feel powerless.

There are three things that you have the power to do:

Power to be a witness (Acts 2:1-13)

When you have had an experience with God, it is most difficult to keep it to yourself. The 120 individuals that had an experience in the upper room weren’t ashamed, but they boldly displayed the change that had taken place within their lives. Be a bold witness for Christ.

Power to move beyond the past (Acts 2:14)

Before the book of Acts, Peter was witnessed making failures and mistakes, but in the book of Acts, Peter is seen in full recovery from his mistakes and failures. You are not limited to your past and, in spite of what happened, you have grace to move into a brighter destiny.

Power to touch future generations (Acts 2:39)

The decisions that you make today will make impact in someone’s life tomorrow. Therefore, allow the power within you to positively bring forth change in someone else’s life. You have the power.
